How do you get fresh coffee stains out of clothes?

It can happen to anyone. You were drinking coffee at work or having breakfast, and somehow you managed to spill it all over your shirt. Not to worry, there are many ways to remove coffee stains from your favourite piece of clothing. You could say that coffee stains go into two categories, meaning fresh coffee stains and the already dry ones. There are different ways to deal with them. And some of them will work in both cases.

Remove Coffee Stains from Clothes & Carpet

STEP 1: If you just spilled your coffee on a shirt or a rug, wet it with a tissue or a paper towel. This is important for easier removal of the stains in the second step. The second step is to run the stain under cold water for about 5 minutes. Make sure the water is cold because hot water will make the stain more persistent. While you are cleaning it with cold water, you can rub it to get the coffee out of the fabric. You can repeat this again to remove fresh stains.

If you spilled coffee over your carpet or sofa, spill some cold water over the stain and rub gently. Use a mixture of white vinegar and baking soda and use a brush to rub the stain. Rinse the mixture off with cold water and let it dry. If the stain persists, try some more methods that we will share in a bit.

STEP 2: If after step 1, the stain persists, use some laundry detergent on the wet fabric. Leave it to work for a few minutes and rinse it with cold water (this will also work on drier stains).

STEP 3: (Optional) If after step 1 or 2, the stain still persists, you can try using a specialized coffee stain remover or vinegar. If you use vinegar or a specialized cleaner, you have to test it on an inner side of the fabric to see if it causes discolouration.

Mix half of the powdered detergent with some white vinegar and apply it to the stain. You can use a small brush (even an old toothbrush) to scrub it. Rinse it well. This solution might also work on dry coffee stains.

Removing dry coffee stains from carpet & shirts

For dry coffee stains, you can apply all the methods mentioned above (except step 1), but few others might work.

-Applying egg yolk

A tested solution for dry coffee stains is egg yolk. Apply it to the stain and let it dry. After it dries, you rinse it with hot water.
– Vinegar and baking soda, alcohol, and water
You can also use a combination of baking soda and white vinegar or a mixture of medicinal alcohol and water (equal parts). Apply to the stain, let it work for a few minutes and rinse.

– Toothpaste or shaving cream

If you don’t have any vinegar or alcohol you can always try with toothpaste or shaving cream. Apply it on the stain and let it work for a few minutes, rinse with water.

If you used any of these tips for fresh or dry coffee stains, you can always put the piece of clothing in the washing machine after, to give it an extra wash, which can help with finally removing the stain

Types of Arabica Coffee Beans

How Hevla’s Supremo Arabica Coffee Beans Combine with Our Special Blending Process to Create a Superior Coffee that will Tantalize Your Taste Buds.

Hevla believes that everyone should have the right to enjoy a fresh hot, steaming cup of coffee without many of the health risks or the heartburn that are generally associated with drinking coffee.

Hevla has created a patented process to remove most of the acids that cause heartburn for coffee drinkers everywhere.  But we know that you can’t have a great cup of coffee without starting with a superior coffee bean.

There are two main varieties of coffee beans, they are Arabica coffee beans and Robusta coffee beans.  Arabica beans are a healthier and superior coffee bean to Robusta beans (which are used for most of the cheaper canned coffees).   Arabica beans are known the world around as the choice for gourmet coffee.  Arabica beans have a more distinctive flavor and aroma.

Arabica vs. Robusta Coffee
(or Quality vs. Quantity)

Almost all commercial coffees on the market are produced from two types of coffee beans, Robusta and Arabica.  While The huge corporate coffee moguls pay millions to make many believe that the cheaper, easier to grow Robusta is the better of the two you will soon find out why Arabica coffee beans are the far superior coffee bean.

Robusta grows at lower altitudes and produces about twice as many beans per coffee tree as Arabica beans, so corporate coffee makers love Robusta coffee beans because they are cheaper to grow and easier to harvest.  They also have twice the caffeine of Arabica coffee beans.

So if you are looking to sell an inexpensive canned coffee that pumps out the caffeine to the masses, it makes sense (and dollars) if you use an inferior bean.

But ask any coffee expert which coffee bean they choose for gourmet coffee and they will almost unequivocally answer “Arabica coffee beans”.   When it comes to great coffee there just isn’t any competition against Arabica beans.

If you are like other discerning coffee drinkers, then you are used to the more desirable flavors and aromas of the Arabica coffee bean.  Arabica beans are simply the most flavorful and aromatic coffee beans available.  It is practically undisputed among coffee connoisseurs.

One of the reasons that Arabica beans create a healthy coffee is they have about half the caffeine of Robusta beans.   You can have that second (or third or fifth) cup without the guilt of overloading your body with the caffeine found in Robusta coffees.

To make sure that you don’t get any unwanted chemicals in your system, Hevla only chooses organically grown, hand picked Arabica coffee beans. Whether you prefer our whole bean Arabica coffee or our ground Arabica coffee, you can rest assured that our coffee beans are among the healthiest that you will find anywhere!

Hevla’s Patented Blending Process
Removes Heartburn Causing Acids

The magic of our healthy coffee (and what sets us apart from every other coffee maker in North America) is our special patented coffee blending process.

Most coffee is very high in acidity.  Hevla’s chemical free, all natural patented high-pressure steaming process removes up to 75% of the irritants formed during coffee roasting, which can lead to heartburn, indigestion and stomach upset.  Irritants are removed while the process leaves the coffee aroma, flavor and caffeine completely intact.

This process is already taking Germany by storm.  The Hevla healthy coffee process has already gained a 12% share of the German market.  It won’t be long before the United states coffee drinkers are drinking a more gentle, healthy organic coffee that you can enjoy without the painful heartburn.  Hevla Coffee’s low acid coffee process is the only one which annually sells millions of pounds of coffee per year with proven results.  Try a cup of Hevla Coffee today.

Suddenly green coffee was everywhere. People were curious about it, researching it, getting their hands on everything they can find out about green coffee. In a few years’ time, green coffee has carved itself a special niche amongst health-conscious people.

What is Green Coffee?

Green coffee is basically unroasted regular coffee beans. They are coffee seeds extracted from the Coffea fruit. Coffee beans are naturally green in colour. When they are roasted, chlorogenic acid is removed from them and they turn to the colour brown.

Green coffee beans are rich in the substance chlorogenic acid and loaded with antioxidants which are known to have been beneficial for the health. Extract from the green coffee bean is popularly used for consumption purposes.

Benefits of Green Coffee

Green Coffee is popularly known as a supplement in aiding weight loss and reducing obesity. Chlorogenic Acid affects the metabolism of the body. Green coffee is also used to reduce blood pressure and blood sugar. It lowers them down to maintain a balance in the body.

It affects the working of the blood vessels which leads to improvement in heart health. It is also beneficial for people suffering from type 2 diabetes. New studies are also coming up which show the positive affect green coffee can have on people suffering from Alzheimer’s disease.

What has more Caffeine – Coffee or Green Tea?

Both coffee and green tea have some amounts of caffeine in them. It comes naturally in both the products. Caffeine, when consumed in balanced dosages, is used to heighten metabolism, concentration and alertness levels. Coffee is said to have more caffeine as compared to green tea.

An average cup of green tea will have 8 ounces of green tea in it, which is equivalent about 25 milligrams of caffeine. An average cup of coffee will also have 8 ounces of coffee which are equivalent to 95 to 165 milligrams of caffeine. Too much caffeine leads to dehydration and increased urination. So it is advised by medical experts to limit the consumption to 400 milligrams a day.

Where can one buy Green Coffee Beans?

These days green coffee is easily available in supermarkets or grocery stores. Multiple websites online offer green coffee powder and beans from various companies. A lot of popular coffee chains have started serving and selling self-procured green coffee. Some coffee companies have started delivering green coffee directly from their fields or factories.

An Easy Guide to Making Your Own Coffee

An Easy Guide to Making Your Own Coffee

Every coffee lover knows the joy of making your own coffee. It is not just easy, but the taste of fresh coffee is out of this world. Its richness and smoothness will have you craving a cup every few minutes.

Why You Should Roast Your Own Coffee

Besides the convenience of having fresh coffee available within the comfort of your home, roasting your own coffee is budget friendly.
In less than ten minutes and for almost half the price, you can have a fresh cup of coffee that is tailored to your taste buds.

Requirements for Green Coffee Roasting

The appliance you use to roast depends on your budget. You can use your oven, an electric hot air popcorn popper, skillet, or a stovetop popper. The best option, however, is using a coffee roasting machine.

A coffee roasting machine is best since it has a built-in timer. There is control over temperature and air flow, which make the beans roast more evenly. It also has a mechanism to mitigate the smoke and chaff.

The Stages of Coffee Roasting

As you start the roasting process, the coffee beans retain their green color but begin turning yellow to light brown. They emit a grassy odor that turns hay-like. There is steam as the water in the beans evaporates.

Cinnamon Roast

The beans make the first cracking sound. At this stage, the beans are still dry and have a cinnamon color. The smell shifts from hay-like to the aroma of baked bread. The seeds begin to caramelize.

After the first crack, the coffee is ready for grinding and brewing; the period you take to get the beans off the roaster IS known as development time and will depend on your taste.

If you prefer a bright brew with high acidity, you can have a shorter development stage where you stop the roasting shortly after the first crack. As the beans continue roasting, the body increases, the acidity brightens, and the seeds turn to a medium brown.

Second Crack

With further roasting, the beans get to the second crack. It is not as loud as the first crack. As the beans continue to roast, the beans turn oily and attain a rich brown color.

The roast flavor dominates the origin flavors giving the beans a bittersweet taste. As you continue the roast, the acidity keeps to reduce, and the body gets much denser than in the first crack.

As the second crack nears completion, the acidity mutes and the beans are characterized by a dark brown color with burnt undertones commonly known as a French roast. This is the limit of roasting for a good flavor. Beyond this, the coffee beans burn.

Cooling and storage

With your coffee beans roasted to your preference, cool them to room temperature by moving them to your collection jar away from any heat. When the beans stay warm, their flavor gets dull, and you don’t want that. The roasted coffee will stay fresh for seven to ten days.

In Conclusion

After the first crack, the beans change in a matter of seconds; you need to be keen and swift. The first time roasting may not be easy, but as you practice, you are sure to get better.
With this guide, there is no reason to use your hard earned money, buying ready coffee that hardly meets your needs.

Why does Black Or White coffee make me tired?

Why does coffee make me tired?

Feeling tired after coffee? It can indeed make you tired for many different reasons, but not the coffee itself. We will talk about the most common reasons and provide some advice on how not get tired, drinking coffee. Coffee itself won’t make you tired, but the many factors linked to drinking coffee, will.

1. Adenosine and coffee can make you sleepy

Adenosine is the neurotransmitter responsible for your tiredness after consuming coffee. When drinking coffee, the caffeine will block adenosine. When the effect of coffee wears off, adenosine is released and can give you a feeling of sleepiness and tiredness.

Seems that the more you drink coffee, the worst the effect can be. You will benefit more from drinking less coffee if you really want to stay awake. As drinking too much coffee can increases your tolerance for caffeine, you will need more and more to stay awake. Consequentially releasing more Adenosine in your body, making you feel more tired than ever.

2. Dehydration and diuretic has a coffee effect

Coffee has diuretic properties, which means it will remove water from your body, in short, it will make you pee more. It is also a vasoconstrictor, which means it makes your veins narrower. As your body loses more water, the blood can get thicker. Because of the thicker consistency of your blood, it might be harder for the blood to travel through the body, resulting in less oxygen. Less oxygen for your body will more likely lead to tiredness.

Make sure you “monitor” the color of your urine. If it’s dark and smells bad, more likely you should drink more water.

Dehydration can cause higher blood pressure and a faster heartbeat. Make sure you drink enough water, preferably next to every cup of coffee.

3. Blood sugar spike and crash

Another factor that can contribute to tiredness when drinking coffee, is having your coffee with sugar. Your body will use the sugar faster than it will metabolise caffeine. That can leave you tired, as same as eating sugary foods. The spoon of sugar you add to your coffee is not its only source. Cream, syrup, sweetened milk, chocolate, and other sweet things, can also contribute to the sugar crash.

Conclusion why drinking back or white coffee makes you sleep

Some conclusive thoughts to help you not to get tired, drinking coffee;

– Don’t drink coffee in the evening or late afternoon
– Make sure you always drink enough water
– Try not to add sugar or syrup to your coffee, (use stevia or other natural sweeteners)
– It’s better to drink less coffee, not to increase your caffeine resistance and adenosine releases
– Keep track of other sources of caffeine such as sodas, energy drinks, black tea, etc.
– If you think you might be highly addicted to coffee, it’s better to try to reduce your intake and replace it with other hot beverages, as you will need more coffee to keep you awake and get more tired after the effects are gone
– Make your coffee yourself, so you can control the amount of coffee, sweetener, and other additives – Buy better quality coffee if you can and grind it yourself.
We hope we gave you some good tips, to enjoy your delicious cup of coffee with moderation!
